People's Photography this weekend! (23rd August 2011)

So this weekend (27th & 28th August) is People's Photography weekend, where you'll find over 200 slightly insane photographers displaying their work all around the railings of St. Stephen's Green. Like every other year, I'll be with the Boards.ie photography forum people. Unlike every other year however, I've been busy working away with Elizabeth Davis to produce a crop of slightly different fare. We've concentrated on producing objects rather than images, and have almost 60 (!!) prints, from cute and teensy fridge magnets through delicate, gossamer emulsion lifts to my own favourite, cyanotypes. Here's me grinning very happily with the first finished one: Sinead Mc Donald | cyanotype

Peoples Photography has always been more about the people than the photography though, so if you can make it any time between 10am and 6pm this weekend, it'd be great to see you. And if you'd like to know more about what we've been doing, you can read a little about emulsion lifts and cyanotypes by clicking the links.

Almost forgot! If you're about on Sunday from 12 or so, the Boards.ie group are taking part in the StreetFeast Ireland event. So not only do you get a feast for your eyes, you get one for your belly too. Bring some picnic food and join in :)
