This work is a response to the concept of image and body in fashion photography, and the manipulation of both the models and our experience of them in high end publications
Drawing on influences from Francis Bacon to the bog bodies housed in the National Museum, through a process of cutting, folding, re-posing and re-photographing high fashion work, they explore the concepts of both violent and loving sacrifice, placement of bodies in a ritual context, and a shift in reading when removed from the familiar reference of high gloss to a fibrous, tactile medium. This work was shown at Homeless Gallery, D-light Studios as part of PhotoIreland Festival.
