The Pale Glass Star

Based on participants' text from the Facing piece from First Fortnight 2012, this work looks at how we communicate our stories. Can our experiences be distilled into a single word? And how does this reading change when it is shifted from the private sphere to a public on-street projection. The interplay of light and darkness is also examined; the significance of both physical sunlight and emotional illumination, and the importance of the darkness itself through the journeys that we undertake.

This piece was produced for the First Fortnight Visual Arts Festival 2013 and shown at Filmbase Gallery. It was also shown at Steambox gallery as part of New Living Art IV.
