Our senses have developed for a Newtonian universe; to cope with pressures to survive and adapt we do not require the ability to see and understand what is around us on levels other than those which keep us alive. The entire structure of existence is mostly invisible to us. Curiosity, scientific endeavour and human imagination have opened up these hidden layers however. Produced in collaboration with Ekaterina Sleptsova and Charlotte Hearne from UCD Physics Dept., this work explores concepts of the visible and the invisible, what form is, how it becomes manifest, and how our senses perceive it. These standing waves have a mathematical form and structure that is simple and complex all at once. A physical representation of harmony, in sound the sine wave produces pure tones. When unbalanced, asymmetry and dischord render shapes and contours which appear chaotic and tenuous
